Ascension Church is Open and Affirming!
In our faith journey we, the family of the Church of the Ascension, United Church of Christ,
strive for love, justice, and equality for all of God's children.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. In time God placed creatures on the earth,
from dinosaurs to bugs, culminating in the wondrous variety of the world's people.
We believe that a faithful reading of Scripture reveals that people were not simply of one sort,
but of many sorts. As an Open-and-Affirming congregation, we welcome those of every gender,
sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, just as we welcome into our family of
faith people of every ability, age, race, nationality, economic and social status, faith background,
marital standing and family structure.
Jesus teaches us to welcome all God's children into the full life and ministry of God's covenant community.
Led by the Spirit, as we grow together in faith and love, we will strive to celebrate the diversity in which God has created us.
Sundays begin with Faith Formation classes for all ages at 9:15,
including a Mommy, Daddy and Me class for infants and toddlers.
Our small class sizes provide the perfect environment in which faith can grow.
Weekly worship begins at 11:00 AM.
Our chancel choir
is is blessed with an ample library of music and a gifted music director. Ascension also has a children's chorus and bell choir.
Parents' Night Out is a baby-sitting service our church provides
on the 3rd Friday of each month. Together, we celebrate the gifts God has given us, study the examples
Christ left us and join in Christian love—and there is room at the table for you whoever you are and where ever
you are on life's journey. Our location at 1700 Main Street, Jeffersonville, Pennsylvania 19403
makes us convenient to Norristown, East Norriton, Plymouth Meeting, Valley Forge, Audubon, Trooper,
West Norriton and Eagleville.
